words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup • they slither while they pass • they slip away across the universe • pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind • possessing and caressing me

the love song
"I grow old … I grow old … I shall wear the bottoms of my trousers rolled."
I've had The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock on my to read list for at least a decade! I absolutely must make myself read it, especially if it deals with getting older (it might compliment the midlife crisis stage of life that I find myself in).
it is a bit long for a poem, but not long in general. you can read it online. you should! it's my favorite poem of all time. just beautiful. it's not as much about getting older as it is about being insecure and daring to take chances or not.
